GNC, New York Settle Herbal Supplement Fraud Dispute

GNC Holdings Inc. has provided studies to the New York attorney general’s office to prove its herbal supplements are safe and correctly labeled.

The company is the first to settle the dispute, which began in February when New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman sent letters to GNC and other companies — Wal-Mart, Target and Walgreens — to take store-brand herbal supplements out of their New York State stores. The supplements were found tainted and mislabeled after DNA tests, reports CBS News.
